Title: The Secret of Life
Audience: 60 of the most senior project managers at NASA
Objectives:
(1) Kick off the conference with an intellectually stimulating presentation
(2) Jumpstart collaboration among the participants.
Length: 70 minutes
Presentation Overview:
(1) Explore the nature of balance through an intellectual exploration into the physics
of balance. Link it to the emotional territory of sustained engagement in difficult projects.
(2) In small groups, have participants build representations of balance using modelling clay
and found objects in the room (e.g., napkins).
(3) In plenary, evaluate each sculpture and award prizes to the group that was most creative.
(4) Lead a session of JumpStart Storytelling to build a collaborative atmosphere.
(5) Conduct a group dialogue based on the participants' stories. Use these stories to reflect
on current issues facing the senior NASA community.
