I was out for dinner with my mother-in-law and wife, the inimitable Laura Baron, in a local restaurant when the vocalist on the bill came to our table and asked Laura to sit in. Here she is with the drummer and bass player taking the stage.
It was fun as we listened to The Girl from Ipanema, put together on the spot. Not only did Laura pick the song in only a few minutes, but the band was ready and did an excellent job with no time to rehearse. They were all “ready,” as any serious musician would be.
Moments of opportunity often strike without warning. Part of playing your role in life is the readiness to move quickly when a window opens.
What opportunities are you looking for this week, and how do you best prepare to seize the chance?
“If opportunity doesn’t knock, build a door.” – Milton Berle
