I’ve just finished putting together a new piece on something that’s been on my mind nonstop: how leadership is changing as AI reshapes our world.
Back in 2010, my book Getting Change Right was all about the power of conversations, people, and energy—not rigid plans or top-down control. Those ideas feel even more relevant today, but the context has shifted dramatically. AI is now in the mix, transforming how we work, learn, and decide together.
So I pulled the thread forward: what does leadership look like when humans and machines are partners? What new skills do leaders need? What still matters, and what has to evolve?
The result is Leadership Competencies in the Era of AI—a fresh framework that blends human-centered leadership with the realities of an AI-driven world. It covers everything from communicating clearly when AI is in the room, to energizing people so they thrive with intelligent tools, to making ethical stewardship a core part of leadership.
If you’re curious about how leadership is shifting—or just want to see what I’m cooking up these days—check it out. I would love to hear what resonates with you.
