Last Friday, I went to my first hockey game. I would not have been there without an invitation from my sister-in-law, Ivy. This photo shows me rinkside behind the goalie.
Before the game started, Ivy took me to the rink to watch the players warm up. We were directly behind the goal and saw all the players taking their shots up close. Periodically, the goalie would come by and practice protecting the goal.
I was completely unprepared for the pucks slamming into the plexiglass just inches from our faces. They sounded like gunshots, and the first time they happened, I about jumped out of my skin!
It was an exciting game, score 4-5, decided in overtime—a great first time experience for me. I enjoyed trying out something new!
