I will be wearing an American flag on my lapel to open up conversations with others about our country.
I intend to diffuse polarization with the people I can have conversations with, by listening and expressing empathy regardless of whether or not we agree.
I want to hear from others what they want, aspire to, and what it means to them to be an American citizen.
I know it’s not for everyone. There are some who are not interested in this dialog. This is for those who are. I am grateful to be an American.
I am not looking to convert others to my views. One of the things I treasure about America is the multiplicity of perspectives. I want to do more to honor differences as we move forward together and to get out the vote.
