Innovation, Recovery, and Showing Up

The week is off to a rockin’ start for me as I head to Chicago to help lead an Innovation Summit for the College of American Pathologists, one of my favorite clients. I am super excited about learning what everyone is up to, participating in a panel with leaders from inside the organization, leading a session myself, and, of course, listening to all the people I will be learning from!

My session is titled, “How to Lead Meetings that Don’t Suck, Five Innovative, Unusual, and Counterintuitive Techniques that You can Put to Work Right Now to Improve the Quality of Your Meetings.” If that topic interests you, reply to this email and I’ll send you my syllabus.

As I head off to the Windy City, my family will be taking care of Kaya, whose health is improving. Things are going well and I am hopeful they will continue to go well. Kaya appears to be back among the living with a healthy appetite and her usual attentiveness to who is going and coming in our household, as well as those unbidden interlopers like FedEx and Amazon. Thank you to everyone who sent prayers, good wishes, and contributed to our GoFundMe initiative. It all helps so much!

This week, lead like it matters, because it does. Show up fully, listen generously, and take one step that brings people together around something that counts.
