Leading change is a core competency for today’s successful leader. There was a time when change was episodic; it would come and disrupt and then things would settle down. Then change became continuous with software applications that with each release had new iterations. And now we are experiencing continuous, exponential, overlapping change. Where changes in multiple sectors, multiple dimensions of business are happening simultaneously and they’re impacting each other. Leading in this environment is critical.

In this video, I discuss leading in an ever-changing landscape. This is not the old fashioned, “I’m the head of the parade, get behind me because I know where I’m going” type of leading. Leading today is much more nuanced and sometimes happens from behind. The important thing is that you’re bringing groups of people together to achieve a common objective. That’s what change leadership is about these days.
