We welcomed the New Year in the best way I know: with music, friends, and a little bit of magic.
New Year’s Day, my wife, Laura Baron, joined Dave Ylvisaker at Zinnia’s downstairs bar to sing in 2026. For an hour or so, the room hung suspended in that inimitable space where time slows, and everyone listens.
Laura performed her rendition of “Auld Lang Syne,” which was once licensed in its entirety by The Young and the Restless. Here’s the recording with all the traditional verses: https://youtu.be/VlUiUNNWoNo?si=vrnK4ulmPqHx52cD.
May this year open with presence, connection, and the kind of artistry that reminds us what really matters.
Happy New Year!
“Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering, ‘It will be happier.’”
– Alfred Lord Tennyson
