I was recently faced with three different sizes of Tootsie Rolls on my counter. It got me to thinking. Same recipe. Same flavor, same soul. The question is, how much Tootsie Roll? These are the kinds of questions that stir the heart.
Christmas is ten days away, and here in the States, that’s a big deal. It’s far enough out there that unmet goals can still be achieved. But, close enough to feel its mind-muddling impact (sugar, family gatherings, alcohol, sugar, office parties, alcohol, sugar).
If you listen carefully, some of the interference drops as it gets taken over by other concerns. And windows of opportunity open up for those who can see them in the last days of the year.
Have a small tootsie roll, and complete that one task that’s been begging for attention all year.
Or pick the medium chocolatey bar, and turn something around that’s been going off course.
Finally, consider there’s a big treat in store, something grand that is possible just now!
It’s the last week before Christmas. Choose your action, set your bar.
Enjoy the sweetness of the season.
“All you need is love. But a little chocolate now and then doesn’t hurt.”
