8-month old Devi has begun her training for the backpacking journeys ahead with an empty pack, just getting used to it. Her next lessons will be: leading on the trail, and learning that campsite is home.
There’s something deeply satisfying about the beginning, when every experience is new and every small success feels like discovery.
I also enjoy revisiting the basics anew So happy to have Devi in my life!
Watching her reminds me that growth starts with curiosity, patience, and delight in the basics. Through fresh eyes, familiar paths become adventures.
Try approaching something ordinary as if you’re experiencing it for the very first time. You may discover there’s more there than you expect!
“I didn’t see it then, but it turned out that getting fired from Apple was the best thing that could have ever happened to me. The heaviness of being successful was replaced by the lightness of being a beginner again, less sure about everything. It freed me to enter one of the most creative periods of my life.”
