Climbing Forward

My son, Gabe, took me to two climbing gyms last week. I was pleasantly surprised at what a great workout it provided.

It’s amazing to learn which muscles it draws on, most discernable by the soreness that develops over the following days. But, to be fair, that’s true with any new physical activity. I think of the aching as “new muscular growth,” and it’s not so bad.

We had a blast, even though I was a complete novice. I was treated equally on the gym floor and welcomed along with a few other new climbers.

I learned a lot and intend to be going back on my own. Is there something new you might try this week that requires some “new muscular growth?”
