This paper lays out what a Grand Challenge is, giving examples. A short assessment as to whether or not you are ready to take on a Grand Challenge is included. I provide an overview of the Design Summit, a key element I developed to successfully launch Grand Challenges and include strategic partners. There is also a short piece on the American Nurses Association’s Grand Challenge, Healthy Nurse Healthy Nation.
