Participation is key in change work. There has to be room for people to rise into their participation. One of the great mistakes made by social change leaders is to jump into the director’s role and start telling people what to do.
When your goal is to see change spread, it’s so important that everybody invested can engage, participate, and develop their relationship with the future.
It’s one of the leader’s jobs to create the circumstances for people to become more involved.
I am on a bread-making kick. In the picture, I am patting down some dough, preparing to let it rise again. I have been experimenting with how long to let my recipe rise. It takes patience, but when sufficient time is allowed, the bread is so much lighter.
