Medical Physics

I am proud to share that I will work with the American Association of Physicists in Medicine to identify the biggest, boldest challenges to create breakthroughs in medical physics.

What is medical physics? Today, its applications can be seen in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), lasers and ultrasound, computation-driven medicine, artificial intelligence, and nuclear medicine, to name a few. The future is bright, with breakthroughs on the horizon. I have spent some of the last week speaking with physicists who have devoted their careers to this field, and my eyes have been opened to some of the most exciting frontiers of medicine.

Advancing scientific breakthroughs can lead to new research fields, innovative techniques, and a deeper understanding of our world. They create new technologies, prevent suffering and death, and ultimately change the world by outlining new possibilities. It brings me great joy to be involved in this work.

I look forward to sharing what I learn in the weeks and months ahead. Please let us know if you know someone who works in this field or a futurist who is delving into what’s coming.
