While working at the World Bank, designing and facilitating hundreds of meetings, I developed a framework for what to consider when canceling or rescheduling a meeting. 

Make a comprehensive list of meetings objectives categorized by each of the five stakeholders:
  1. Members
  2. Partners
  3. Sponsors
  4. Vendors
  5. Organization
Next sort each of the objectives into three buckets:
  1. Objectives that must take place at the originally scheduled time
  2. Objectives that can be delayed without harm
  3. Objectives that can be jettisoned upon impact
