My wife, Laura Baron, is a music video social artist.
In 2013 she produced A Little Note, using the soundtrack to the song that won Best Song across all categories by the Washington Area Music Awards. This video was made possible by the generous support of In Honor of Her, and is dedicated to helping those who have experienced domestic abuse. It’s an inspiring story of a woman who chooses life on her own terms after much deliberation.
Her piece, The Streets of New York, includes the famous excerpt from Emma Lazarus’s “The New Colussus” inscribed on the Statue of Liberty. Laura wrote this in 2019 as immigrants were under attack by our national leadership.
Refugee was written to express the struggle, perseverance and ultimately the power of the human spirit. “The refugee has always walked our earth searching for home and a place to live safely and to prosper. Today’s refugee crisis is one that demands compassion and action,” says Laura.
Laura will release a new music video this Wednesday, International Peace Day. If you would like to get an invitation to watch it when it comes out, send me a reply, and I’ll pass your email along to Laura.
How might you express your own personal artistry in the week ahead?
“Our stories come from our lives and from the playwright’s pen, the mind of the actor, the roles we create, the artistry of life itself and the quest for peace.”
