I am a proud member of the American Geophysical Union, an association of earth and space scientists. I’m not an earth or space scientist, but I joined the AGU because I believe in its mission:
To support and inspire a global community of individuals and organizations who are interested in advancing discovery of Earth and space sciences and its benefit for humanity and the environment.
Because I am fully committed to a world where science improves humanity, I support AGU with time and money. Does your mission encourage external stakeholders to provide you with resources? The establishment of a mission relevant to the larger world positions you to attract young professionals coming into your field and attract resources with other organizations fully aligned with the realization of your mission.
