What Brings Us Together

This past Saturday, I spent hours wandering through tables of posters, albums, and memorabilia, surrounded by people who were absolutely into it. Hunting for deals, sharing finds, and trading stories.

My daughter, Ruchi, and I were in Philadelphia for a K-Pop flea market. We were joined by one of my daughter’s gaming buddies, whom she had never met IRL.

There we were: three people who came from different worlds, walking the same streets, hunting down K-Pop deals, laughing, comparing finds, and eating together. I love how fast a common interest can bring strangers together.

What stays with me isn’t the flea market, the food, or even the deals we found. It’s how easily connections are formed when we show up around something that we share.

As you head into this week, look for those moments. Step into someone else’s world. You may find that what brings you together isn’t how similar you are, but what you are together to accomplish.
