Securing Support

My daughter, Ruchi, is training her dog, Divya, to be a service dog. Ruchi has a form of seizure, and Divya provides companionship that actually lowers the occurrences of the seizures. This picture was taken in a classroom on campus while a trained instructor was guiding Ruchi in how to work with Divya.

Dogs provide wonderful services to us in so many different ways. From herding sheep to lowering our stress, they have found ways to contribute to humans for a long time.

Ruchi knew in advance she would need this kind of support. Not only has she been putting in the time to train Divya, she also advocated to American University, where she will be starting college in the fall, to get the accommodations she requires.

It’s always smart to ask for support when you need it. Is there some kind of support you might request in the week ahead?
